What is the relationship between education and care? How should the paradigm of health care and education be interpreted today, from a biopsychosocial network perspective with the support of caregivers? This paper aims to reflect on these questions, starting from some suggestions by I. Illich (1976). This unique pedagogue drew attention to certain healthcare difficulties inherent, first and foremost, in the logics of depersonalization and uprooting that still exist in personal care. It is now urgent to move beyond the biomedical–economic model of care and rethink the interpersonal relationship between healthcare professionals and patients, to design health education in spaces and contexts that involve the active participation of the patient and a responsible community in which various healthcare experts interact.
